FAQ
What woods and finishes do you use?
Woods: We typically build in cedar (great outdoors), pine (budget-friendly and versatile), and oak or maple (durable hardwoods for furniture). For outdoor garden pieces we prioritize cedar and corrosion-resistant hardware.
Finishes (indoor): Low-VOC water-based polyurethane or a hard-wax oil for a natural look and easy touch-ups.
Finishes (outdoor): UV-resistant penetrating oils or exterior urethane to handle Arizona sun. Expect to refresh exterior finishes every 12–24 months depending on exposure.
Food/contact surfaces: We can use food-safe oil/wax blends. For planters, we usually leave the interior raw for breathability; liners are optional if you prefer.
Do you install?
Yes. We install floating shelves, wall-mounted benches, built-ins, trellises, and planter boxes in the East Valley (Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe, and Queen Creek). Installation includes proper anchoring to studs or masonry, touch-ups as needed, and clean-up. Delivery outside our standard area can be arranged—just ask in your quote request.
How long does a project take?
Most projects follow this rhythm:
- Design & quote: 1–3 business days after your inquiry.
- Build time: Small items 3–5 days; common pieces (shelves, benches, planters) ~1–2 weeks; custom/built-ins 2–4+ weeks.
- Finish & cure: Add 1–3 days depending on finish type and weather.
- Install/Delivery: Scheduled as soon as curing is complete.
